Job Description Job Description The Human Resources Administrator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations of the Tribe by providing administrative, clerical, and customer service support across multiple human resources functions. This position supports recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance while upholding Tribal values, sovereignty, and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries, providing professional and confidential support Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, application tracking, interview scheduling, and onboarding Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR databases in compliance with Tribal policies and applicable laws Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and coordination with vendors Assist with payroll coordination, timekeeping records, and personnel action forms Support training, employee relations activities, and HR programs as assigned Ensure compliance with Tribal employment policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations Prepare reports, correspondence, and HR documentation as needed Qualifications Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered Minimum of [1–3] years of administrative or human resources support experience Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and confidentiality standards Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems Ability to work respectfully with diverse communities and maintain cultural sensitivity Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a Tribal government or Tribal organization Knowledge of Tribal employment rights, policies, or preference laws HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus Additional Information Indian Preference will apply in accordance with Tribal law Must successfully pass background check and pre-employment requirements Why Join Us Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving the Tribal community while supporting employees through fair, respectful, and culturally grounded human resources practices.
