DescriptionPOSITION DESCRIPTIONTHE SALVATION ARMYWESTERN TERRITORIAL HEADQUARTERSDEPARTMENT: NEW FRONTIER PUBLICATIONS POSITION TITLE: SOCIAL MEDIA EDITOR STATUS: EXEMPT (Full-Time) MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in his name without discrimination.ROLE: We are looking for an engaging Social Media Editor to develop and maintain our social media presence. In this role, you will be required to develop content and marketing strategies, track user engagement and activity, and ensure consistency in the brand's digital tone and image.To ensure success as a Social Media Editor, you should have a keen eye for detail and experience with a variety of social media networks. A skilled Social Media Editor should be able to effectively interpret analytics and implement social strategies that result in increased engagement and conversion. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in advertising, marketing or communications preferred.A minimum of three years experience as a Social Media Editor or similar.Good knowledge of social scheduling and analytics tools such as CoSchedule, Later, Hootsuite, Google Analytics and Headliner.Familiarity with all major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.Strong design knowledge and proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop and Canva.Exceptional marketing abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent project management skills.Highly engaging, versatile and adaptable.Ability to work with a team while exhibiting self-direction and initiative.Ability to keep up with industry trends and new social networks.Knowledge of The Salvation Armyor a willingness to learnits doctrine, policy, history and mission.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Digital Operations Director to develop and implement a digital marketing strategy for publications.Create, implement, track and analyze content and paid advertising for social media based on overall strategic plan.Develop and maintain a consistent brand tone, image and style online.Work with graphic designers, content creators and influencers to create engaging social content.Review, proofread and edit completed work before posting.Determine the optimal times to post content and manage scheduling tools.Coordinate with design and writing teams to ensure timely delivery of content.Review and interpret web and social analytics to measure and guide the effectiveness of marketing strategies.Generate analytic reports and social media feedback for presentation and review.Keep abreast of industry and consumer trends, advancements in technology and new social media platforms and tools.Work with Digital Operations Director to ensure website is consistently updated with content that is well designed, professional and on brand.Guide and support the development of new online efforts.Initiate and maintain relationships with facets of The Salvation Army and its representatives that develop leads and content for publication.Serve as a representative of New Frontier Publications.Other duties and projects as assigned.WORK HABITS: Must adhere to all Salvation Army policies and procedures.Must be willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army through work responsibilities and always reflect positively on the Armys brand and values through all work and interactions.Must maintain the integrity of confidential communications or activities.Must maintain professional, courteous and cooperative manner with all THQ and Field personnel and outside contacts and demonstrate respect and a positive attitude toward them at all times.Must be a team player and take the initiative and be flexible in assisting others to the best of ability to ensure accurate and timely accomplishment of work objectives.Must maintain an organized work area, files, and systems for efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of work responsibilities.Must be able to comprehend assignments and ask for additional information or clarification until the assignment is understood.Must demonstrate dependability through attendance and punctuality.Must be prepared to quickly communicate about, coordinate, develop and deploy digital communications and tasks at any time as needed, sometimes during non-standard hours.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
